timothy r. Hance
General Counsel
Mr. Hance has served as general counsel for both public and private companies, ranging from a Series Seed stage startup to a $1 billion plus market cap public company. In addition to working cross-functionally to support department heads such as HR and finance, as well as being the go-to legal advisor for executive management, Mr. Hance’s accomplishments include: leading a corporate restructuring and spin-off, closing a $10 million venture capital round, negotiating a material loan agreement, drafting a full suite of initial Exchange Act filings for a newly public company, and closing multiple capital markets transactions as in-house counsel.
Corporate Attorney
Mr. Hance began his law career at the top international tech law firm Cooley LLP. There, Mr. Hance served as outside general counsel to a wide variety of startups, including solo entrepreneurs and large public companies. Mr. Hance also completed dozens of initial public offerings, debt financings and venture capital financings.
Business Experience
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Hance was a senior business analyst at a prominent SF Bay Area startup. There, Mr. Hance was responsible for preparing quantitative metrics to inform executive management decision-making.
